“Because at the end of the day they are NBA
players” – Raymond Felton when referring to playing the Wizards. I double
checked and Raymond is definitely correct – the team that they played last
night was in fact an NBA team. But they are not a very good NBA team and the
Knicks took care of business accordingly. The Wizards winning streak was
snapped at one game(s) and they appear to be in the driver’s seat to win the
lotto.
A quick aside – NBADraft.net (my source for
all things NBA draft related) has Cody Zeller currently projected as the #1
overall pick. Cody Zeller would be the first white, American #1 pick since Kent
Benson in 1977. That’s 35 years or like 1 older young professional/younger old
professional.
JR was 9-14 for 20 points and a +26. There
are quite a few clubs in the Meatpacking district missing JR Smith’s business.
Pablo looked great again. It seems it took a month but he is looking pretty
sharp. He’s also playing well.
Tyson Chandler wore some fedora-esque top
hat in the post-game interview. I really hope this NBA style thing makes it all
the way to monocles.
Vince Vaughn shot a scene from his upcoming
movie “Delivery Man” at halftime. In the movie, Vaughn gets fouled and has to
make two free throws. Vaughn could not do this and the Garden turned on him,
booing incessantly.
The Knicks are now 17-1 at home in the
regular season since Mike Woodson took over.
I still don’t really understand the
rotations. Kurt Thomas started both halves but played 8 total minutes. Chris
Copeland continues to play basketball. Marcus Camby continues to not play
basketball. Here is Mike Woodson’s comments on it, I guess: "I decided
tonight to go with the young guys. Marcus is a pro, he understands. He's here
for the long haul and he's here to help us win. I decided to go with (James)
White and (Chris) Copeland tonight, and I thought they played well for the
minutes they received." Tough to complain at 11-4 but bizarre.
The Knicks were outrebounded by 10 but I
think that is just a thing that they are going to have to overcome (unless of
course they play more Marcus Camby but you know). They only had 8 turnovers so the
coaching staff will be doing quite a few laps today. And on that note, the
Knicks are practicing for the first time since November 17th. I
guess that is the perk of having a team of middle-aged men.
Get well soon Jason! Get well soon Iman! Continue to feel emotionally disconnected from the team's success Amare!

A lot more "Good JR" than "Bad JR" lately, which is great. He has been huge off the bench. Although, his greatest contribution to the team is the way he leads them out of the locker room and high fives Felton in that glass hallway.
